Precision Systems, Inc. is seeking a Construction Inspector to oversee highway construction in the Culpeper district, VA. You will ensure QA compliance, monitor fieldwork, document progress, and coordinate with the QAM and design team.

Work outdoors on active sites with day or night shifts as projects require; VDOT certifications and 3+ years of highway inspection experience are preferred. A company vehicle and comprehensive benefits accompany this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of highway construction inspection experience (VDOT Inspector Trainee can substitute for one year).
• Knowledge of VDOT Road and Bridge Specifications, Standards, and related manuals.
• Ability to read and interpret roadway, structure, and bridge plans and specifications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software.
• Strong record-keeping and communication skills.
• Flexibility to work day or night shifts as projects require.

Responsabilités

• Perform Quality Assurance inspection to verify quality and contract compliance for roadway, structure, and bridge construction under the QAM.
• Inspect and monitor field work, including excavations, drainage facilities, road surfaces, and structures.
• Observe and document Contractor’s daily production rates.
• Schedule work and inspection phases with the Contractor’s superintendent and project personnel.
• Observe, document, and communicate with contractor about completion of all project elements and non-conforming work.
• Take field measurements and review material placement and tests.
• Review lines, grades, dimensions, and elevations using survey equipment.
• Oversee and enforce erosion/siltation controls, work zones, and traffic control devices.
• Identify field conditions requiring design changes and coordinate with QAM and design team.
• Maintain QA project records and reports.
