Job summary

Precision Systems, Inc. is seeking a Construction Inspector to join our growing CMI team in Roanoke, VA. You will inspect highway construction across phases, ensure quality per plans and specs, and support field engineers with accurate documentation and testing.

Responsibilities include QA inspections, monitoring field work, taking measurements, and coordinating with contractors to resolve non-conformances. A strong reading of plans, solid communication, and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years highway construction inspection experience; Trainee substitutes one year.
• Knowledge of VDOT standards, inspections manuals, and MUTCD a plus.
• Ability to read highway/bridge plans and specs.
• Proficiency with MS Office and field documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform QA inspection for roadway, structure, and bridge construction.
• Inspect field work, observe production rates, and schedule phases.
• Document non-conforming work and communicate with contractors.
• Take field measurements and review materials/tests.
• Ensure erosion controls and traffic control devices are in place.
• Maintain QA records and reports.
