Job summary

TYLin is currently seeking a Resident Inspector within our Construction Management team to support highway and bridge construction projects in Maine. The role requires a Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree and 10+ years of field inspection experience, including highway or bridge work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management required.
• 10+ years of experience in construction inspection, including highway or bridge work.
• Familiarity with MaineDOT specifications and documentation practices.
• Ability to travel to remote field locations.
• Client-focused with strong problem-solving orientation.
• Commitment to innovation and ethical, sustainable practices.
• Ability to collaborate in a diverse, inclusive team.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate between field inspectors and contractor’s representative to supervise the work and testing.
• Monitor progress and report deviations from schedule, contract price, or quantity.
• Support the Construction Services Manager in project management, contract administration, quality assurance and control.
• Track submittals by contractor to ensure reviews and approvals are in place.
• Maintain records and accounting related to project costs.
• Perform final inspection, punch list, and project closeout.
• Attend progress meetings and prepare correspondence.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.
