The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or physics and 7+ years of experience, with strong organizational skills and US citizenship. On-site work at the Advanced Technologies Office facility offers a dynamic, mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or physics required.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain DOE/DOD clearance.
• Experience with high-temperature materials testing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop methodologies for thermo-physical property testing.
• Operate high-temperature testing furnace and instruments (LFA, DSC, STA, dilatometry).
• Characterize thermo-physical properties for diverse R&D and production programs.
• Collaborate with scientists and engineers to select techniques.
• Mentor team in ceramics, metals, composites, and nuclear fuels.
• Support build-out, commissioning, and safety documentation for the testing facility.
