Job summary

Pacific Defense is seeking a Senior PCB Engineer to join a small, fast-paced team. You will design, document, and maintain high-reliability PCB layouts, collaborating with internal hardware, mechanical engineers, and external contractors.

You will lead footprint libraries, drive design reviews, ensure IPC compliance, and coordinate with fabrication and assembly houses to resolve issues through the fabrication process.

Qualifications

• 10+ years PCB layout and routing experience.
• 10+ years designing high-speed digital and mixed-signal PCBs.
• Experience designing with >10 Gbps and >6 GHz.
• Experience with DDR4 memory interfaces.
• Experience with 16+ layer boards using buried/blind vias.
• Experience with controlled impedance transmission lines (single-ended, differential, stripline, microstrip, CPW).
• Documenting PCB design processes and footprints; follow-up discipline.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with digital design engineers during parts placement and routing.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers for structural and thermal integrity.
• Work with PCB design contractors to meet processes/deliverables.
• Coordinate with PCB fabrication houses to resolve fabrication issues.
• Coordinate with contract assembly houses to clarify design requirements.
• Manage centralized footprint library for consistency.
• Lead design reviews of internal and external PCB layouts.
