Job summary

HyperLight in Cambridge, MA is hiring an Electro-Optic Modulator Design Engineer to own modulators end-to-end, from concept through tapeout to production. You will apply RF and optical physics to optimize high-speed devices for our TFLN platform.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, run RF (>100 GHz) and electro-optic simulations with industry tools, and develop advanced test/calibration methods using tunable lasers, VNAs, oscilloscopes, and AWGs.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of relevant work experience or an advanced degree in Physics, EE, or related field.
• Strong record of independent innovation and technical problem solving.
• Deep intuition for applied physics of devices designed.
• Solid understanding of RF, microwave, and/or integrated photonic devices.

Responsibilities

• Own full development of modulator designs from concept to production handoff.
• Collaborate with layout, process, manufacturing, test, and product teams on photonic components.
• Perform high-frequency RF (>100 GHz) and electro-optic simulations; develop high-speed test and calibration methods.
• Act as a technical expert throughout the product lifecycle and customer engagements.
