Job summary

Lightmatter is hiring an Electro-Optic Systems Architect to join our team advancing photonics-driven data center solutions. You will lead the design and modeling of high-speed electro-optic links, work with cross-disciplinary engineering groups, and validate concepts with experiments for volume production.

The role requires a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a Master’s with extensive experience, strong coding in Python or Matlab, and proficiency with Cadence photonics tools, HFSS, and Keysight

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• 3+ years of experience in electronic-photonic-electronic systems simulation.
• 2+ years of hardware testing and measurements of photonic high-speed modulators and receivers.
• Proficient in Cadence photonics-analog simulators, Ansys HFSS, Keysight ADS.
• Strong coding skills in Python or Matlab.
• Strong in RF/mm-wave analog circuit design.
• Experience modeling optical communications links.
• Experience with corner and Monte Carlo analyses.
• Experience collaborating with photonics and electronics teams.

Responsibilities

• Creative problem-solving for high-volume electro-optic architecture solutions.
• Modeling with Cadence photonics-analog simulators and other tools.
• Design end-to-end electrical-optical-electrical system-level links to meet customer requirements.
• Co-design silicon photonic devices with engineering teams based on simulations.
• Validate models via high-speed RF experiments and data analysis.
• Collaborate with electronics and photonics teams to specify and validate circuits.
• Document and present contributions to internal and external stakeholders.
