Job summary

Plano ISD is seeking a Senior High School Special Education teacher to provide specialized instruction to students with varying needs. You will deliver engaging lessons, assess progress, and coordinate with the IEP team to support individual learning goals.

The role requires a Texas teaching certificate with appropriate endorsements, and at least one year of student teaching or internship. ESL/Special Education certifications may be required for specific campuses, with a focus on collaboration

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements or training for subject and level assigned.
• Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned.
• At least one year of student teaching or approved internship.
• ESL Certification is required for certain positions as specified in the ad.
• Special Education Certification is required for Early Childhood campus teachers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned to the district curriculum and show evidence of preparation.
• Differentiate instruction to accommodate individual student differences.
• Present subject matter according to TEA guidelines and district policies.
• Use instructional strategies and technology that meet individual student needs.
• Collaborate with Special Education staff to modify curricula per IEPs.
• Plan and supervise assignments for teacher aides or volunteers.
• Maintain required reports, records, and documents.
