Job summary

Antares is seeking a senior engineer to own the high‑power electrical architecture of its nuclear microreactor platform. You will define the common DC bus, oversee energy storage integration, and drive the roadmap for scalable deployment.

You will lead HV system design, fault management, and cross‑vendor integration across a multi‑unit plant. The role requires 5+ years in power electronics, deep experience with DC bus architectures, grid‑tied inverters, and system-level testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in power electronics or high power electrical systems; ownership of architecture through hardware bring-up.
• Experience with DC bus architectures interconnecting sources/loads, protection, grounding, isolation, fault analysis.

Responsibilities

• Own the common DC bus architecture tying energy storage, reactor power conversion, and grid-tied inverter.
• Define expansion architecture for multi-reactor scaling, including paralleling and fault isolation.
• Ensure HV system integrates as a system across vendors and use cases.
• Own HV system functions from design to verification (BMS, precharge, isolation monitoring, power quality, grid-forming/following, shutdowns, load shedding, black-start).
• Own fault behavior for load drop, short circuits, isolation, ground faults, and converter faults with proper protection coordination.
• Own power electronics supplier relationships: specs, evaluation, design reviews, integration support, long-term relationship.
• Drive electrical development roadmap; evaluate suppliers/tech; decide make/buy and tech direction.
• Shape equipment pad layout with mechanical for routing, EMI, thermal, serviceability.
