Job summary

Keel in South Carolina is seeking a Heavy Lift Manager to supervise all heavy lift, rigging, crane, and drydock operations across government ship repair and commercial fabrication projects. You will ensure safe, efficient, and timely execution of lifts, rotations, and barge load-outs, coordinating with riggers, crane operators, and safety teams.

Responsibilities include crew leadership, lift planning, equipment documentation, and compliance with OSHA, NAVSEA, and ASME B30 standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• 7+ years in heavy rigging, crane operations, drydocking, and complex fabrication moves.
• Experience in Government Ship Repair, DOD contracting, or commercial marine environments preferred.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, NAVSEA, ASME B30 standards and rigging/crane/drydock safety regulations.
• Supervisory experience managing crews in high-risk environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead crews including riggers, crane operators, and drydock personnel.
• Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with applicable standards.
• Review drawings, lift plans, and docking strategies for modular construction and large assemblies.
• Approve engineered lift plans and coordinate critical lift packages.
• Plan heavy lifts, docking/undocking, and barge load-outs to minimize delays.
• Maintain certifications and inspection records for lifting equipment.
