Qualifications

  • Valid rigging license.
  • 5+ years of rigging experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Strong working knowledge of rigging methods, lifting equipment, load handling and safety practices.
  • Proven ability to lead, develop, and manage skilled trade personnel.
  • Experience planning manpower, equipment, schedules, and resources across multiple projects.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and maritime, shipyard, or industrial safety requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, train, and mentor rigging personnel while maintaining safety, productivity, and workmanship.
  • Plan and coordinate rigging activities, including manpower, equipment, materials, schedules, and project requirements.
  • Oversee daily rigging operations and ensure work is executed efficiently and in accordance with procedures.
  • Inspect, maintain, and monitor rigging equipment to ensure it remains safe and compliant.
  • Coordinate rigging activities with project management, production, engineering, safety, and other departments.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, labor regulations, maritime standards, and company safety procedures.
  • Monitor project costs, budgets, labor utilization, and resource allocation to support objectives.
  • Maintain accurate records related to equipment, personnel, safety, schedules, budgets, and project activities.
  • Work with customers, project managers, and stakeholders to resolve issues and meet deadlines.
  • Respond to operational challenges and emergencies to protect personnel, equipment, and project performance.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to operational challenges and emergencies, making timely decisions to protect personnel, equipment, schedules, and project performance.
Requirements
  • Valid rigging license.
  • Minimum 5 years of rigging experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Strong working knowledge of rigging methods, lifting equipment, load handling, and associated safety practices.
  • Proven ability to lead, develop, and manage skilled trade personnel.
  • Experience planning manpower, equipment, schedules, and resources across multiple projects.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and maritime, shipyard, or industrial safety requirements.
  • Experience managing project costs, labor utilization, budgets, or other financial responsibilities.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and administrative skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work outdoors and in physically demanding shipyard conditions, including working at heights, lifting up to 50 pounds, and operating in varying weather conditions.
