Job summary

Hitachi Energy USA INC is seeking a Heavy Transport & Rail Specialist in South Boston, VA to lead oversized rail and heavy-haul transportation projects from proposal through final delivery. You will coordinate door-to-door shipments, review drawings and routing studies, and collaborate with factory teams to align plans with schedules and commitments.

The role requires 5+ years in heavy transport, strong knowledge of permits and regulations, and experience with SAP, Excel, and TMS.

Qualifications

Minimum 5+ years of experience in heavy haul trucking, rail transportation, multimodal logistics.
Experience with oversized freight, carrier relationships, permitting and route planning.
Understanding of rails, rail clearances, DOT permits and transportation regulations.
Ability to read engineering drawings, rigging lift plans and method statements.
Familiarity with U.S., Canadian, and Mexican trade compliance, customs processes, and Incoterms 2020.

Responsibilities

Lead oversized rail and heavy-haul transportation projects from proposal through final delivery.
Coordinate door-to-door rail and road shipments with transportation providers and suppliers.
Review transportation proposals, drawings, routing studies, and method statements for project execution.
Collaborate with factory teams to align transportation plans with manufacturing schedules and customer commitments.
Ensure trade compliance and proper documentation for international transportation.
