Job summary

Orange County Government is seeking a highly skilled Equipment Operator IV for the Water Reclamation Division in Orlando, FL. The role focuses on operating and maintaining large construction equipment to perform excavation, grading, and material transport with safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities include coordinating with crews, performing inspections, and assisting with equipment training and procedures.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience operating medium to heavy equipment.
• Valid Florida Driver's License required.
• Possess and maintain a valid Florida Commercial Driver's License (Class A) or obtain within six months of hire.
• Crane certification preferred.
• Experience with heavy equipment operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate complex heavy equipment (tankers, front-end loaders, dump trucks, backhoes, excavators, wheel loaders, cranes).
• Supervise loading and unloading of heavy equipment.
• Coordinate with work crews and utility locators; locate utilities before excavation.
• Perform routine inspections and minor maintenance of equipment.
• Assist with development of heavy equipment training programs and procedures.
• Drive between transfer stations and landfill as needed.
• Perform general labor tasks and assist with project requirements.
