Job summary

Magnolia Companies is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to support the Underground Utilities Division in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. This role requires operating crawler excavators and front-end loaders to install underground sewer and water systems and work within a field construction team.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of experience operating heavy construction equipment, with a focus on excavating around existing utilities and maintaining equipment in good

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of heavy construction equipment experience.
• Experience with sewer and water installation.
• Proven experience using crawler excavators, mini excavators, and front-end loaders.
• Experience excavating around existing underground utilities.
• Knowledge of construction safety practices and jobsite procedures.
• Valid driver’s license; DC Operator’s license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy construction equipment (crawler excavators, loaders) for sewer and water projects.
• Perform excavation, grading, trenching, and material movement.
• Safely excavate around underground utilities and follow safety procedures.
• Install underground sewer and water systems per project specs.
• Inspect equipment daily and report maintenance or safety issues.
• Assist other crew members to complete tasks and maintain a clean site.
