Job summary

AIS Infrastructure is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to safely operate excavators and bulldozers on heavy civil construction projects across the United States. This role requires adherence to safety standards, strong equipment knowledge, and teamwork to meet project deadlines.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of operating construction equipment, familiarity with GPS tech, and the ability to read blueprints and plans.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' experience operating construction equipment with a minimum of 3 years on large excavators and/or bulldozers.
• Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance to access secured facilities, including military bases.
• Proficient in operating a variety of construction equipment.
• Strong understanding of construction processes and techniques.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to equipment operation.
• Ability to interpret project plans, blueprints, and specifications.
• Familiarity with GPS and other relevant construction technology.
• Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Attention to detail in executing tasks accurately and efficiently.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Customer service mindset for interacting with project stakeholders.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and follow instructions.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
• Valid driver's license.
• Familiarity with relevant tools, equipment, and software used in the industry.
• Certification in equipment operation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate and maintain heavy construction equipment, specifically, but not limited to, excavators and bulldozers, for earthmoving and other purposes on heavy civil construction projects.
• Follow project plans, blueprints, and instructions to complete assigned tasks efficiently and accurately.
• Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Safely load, transport, and unload materials using appropriate equipment and techniques.
• Collaborate with project teams to coordinate equipment operations and ensure project deadlines are met.
