Z-Best is seeking a Heavy Construction Equipment Technician in Gilroy, CA to service a diverse fleet of heavy equipment. This multi-level role covers entry to senior responsibilities, emphasizing safety, documentation, and reliable uptime.

You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose complex issues, and support fleet improvements in a structured shop setting. The role offers progression from Entry to Senior, with opportunities to lead diagnostics, mentor junior staff, and ensure DOT

Competenze

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• 1+ year of relevant experience or equivalent vocational training preferred
• Trade school or apprenticeship program preferred
• ASE certifications encouraged
• CDL preferred or ability to obtain
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
• 3+ years of relevant Heavy Construction Equipment or vehicle maintenance experience
• Brake safety certification required
• ASE and CDL preferred
• Strong computer literacy and experience using maintenance management systems
• 5+ years of progressive experience in Heavy Construction Equipment or fleet maintenance
• Brake safety certification and EPA 609 A/C certification required
• Multiple ASE certifications strongly preferred
• CDL required or strongly preferred
• Demonstrated OEM platform proficiency and advanced diagnostic expertise

Mansioni

• Perform safety-compliant maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment
• Complete PMs and work orders with proper documentation
• Communicate findings clearly to supervisors
• Support fleet reliability and continuous improvement
• Independently perform PMs and diagnostics at higher levels
• Lead diagnostics and repairs across major vehicle systems
• Mentor junior technicians and share best practices
• Oversee DOT and brake system inspections for quality
• Document accurately and maintain shop standards
