Job summary

Rifenburg Contracting in Zebulon, NC is seeking a Heavy Equipment Technician to maintain and repair heavy trucks and equipment in our Zebulon shop. You will troubleshoot road and shop inquiries, ensure safety and production, and collaborate with a team; Monday–Friday 7am–4pm.

This role requires five years of experience on excavators, bulldozers, off-road haulers, and loaders, with a valid driver's license; CDL is a plus. Tools provided by you along with opportunities to grow.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years’ experience on heavy construction equipment (excavators, bulldozers, off-road haulers, loaders).
• Valid driver's license; CDL a plus.
• Strong organizational, planning and leadership skills.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals; proficient with equipment software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; team-oriented.
• Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair equipment with speed and accuracy.
• Creates and maintains positive working relationships with others.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance and diagnose repairs on vehicles and equipment.
• Maintains accurate paperwork (mechanics reports, invoice coding, etc.).
• Orders parts and supplies; coordinates deliveries and credits.
• Keeps shop and company vehicles organized and clean.
• Works with operations to ensure prompt delivery of repaired equipment.
• Represents the company professionally on job sites or with customers.
• Stays up to date with trends in heavy equipment technologies.
• Assists other Technicians as required.
