Job summary

A major U.S. civil infrastructure contractor in Cheshire, Connecticut is seeking a Senior Estimator with a strong background in heavy civil construction, estimating and bid management.

The role involves leading estimating activities and coordinating with internal teams, subcontractors, vendors and Supply Chain. Requirements include 10+ years in construction/estimating, experience leading bid teams and mentoring and coaching, and proficiency with HCSS HeavyBid, Agtek, Primavera P6 and Bluebeam.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in construction / estimating
• Experience leading bid teams and mentoring/coaching
• Strong background in heavy civil estimating and coordinating with internal teams, subcontractors, vendors and Supply Chain
• Proficiency with HCSS HeavyBid, Agtek, Primavera P6 and Bluebeam

Responsibilities

• Reviewing plans and specifications and developing project pricing
• Managing takeoffs and pricing for bids
• Preparing conceptual estimates and negotiated proposals
• Developing preliminary project schedules
• Coordinating with subcontractors, vendors, Supply Chain and DOTs
• Reviewing estimators’ work and supporting the development of the estimating team
• Researching historical and regional costs and new bidding opportunities
