Job summary

Karman Industries is seeking a Lead Engineer to head the design, development, and qualification of CO₂ heat exchangers, PCHEs, and related cooling equipment. You will drive supplier selection, design reviews, and manufacturability in close collaboration with manufacturing.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of heat exchanger design experience from concept to fielded product.
• Experience with high-pressure CO₂ systems is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of thermodynamics and heat transfer.

Responsibilities

• Own thermal and hydraulic design of CO₂ heat exchangers across full operating envelope.
• Evaluate and select exchanger technologies for each duty considering thermal, cost, size, weight, manufacturability.
• Lead electronics cooling and cold plate design and integration with cooling loop.
• Develop rating and sizing models and coordinate with system modeling.
• Oversee prototype-to-production, supplier selection, design reviews, and test plans.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and suppliers to scale production and ensure DFM.
