Job summary

Providence Spokane is seeking a Security Officer who reports to the Security Manager and performs protective duties to safeguard patients, staff and facilities. You will investigate potential criminal conduct, respond to incidents, and assist in restraining individuals when necessary in a healthcare setting.

The role emphasizes enforcing policies, supporting emergent situations, and maintaining a safe environment for the Providence community across its facilities in the region.

Qualifications

• 2 years of law enforcement/security/military or healthcare security experience, plus 1 year in Providence security and passage of the SO2 promotion test and oral board.
• 5 years: external candidates must have 5 years law enforcement/security/military experience or related healthcare security experience and pass SO2 promotion test and oral board within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Protect patients, visitors, staff, physicians, property and facilities from harm, fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry.
• Investigate reports of potential criminal conduct and respond to incidents; assist in restraining patients as needed.
• Enforce facility and security policies and regulations and support emergent situations in the local service area.
