AtlantiCare is seeking a Deputy General Counsel to serve as a senior legal executive and strategic partner to the Chief Legal Officer. The role provides counsel across the health system and affiliated entities, supporting complex healthcare operations, transactions, governance, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor Degree required.
• Licensed member of the Bar of the State of New Jersey.
• Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible legal experience, preferably in healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal counsel to executive leadership and the Chief Legal Officer on healthcare operations, transactions, governance and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee day-to-day operations of the Legal Department and supervise staff.
• Manage outside counsel and coordinate enterprise legal services.
• Advise on federal and state healthcare laws including Medicare/Medicaid, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback, HIPAA, EMTALA.
• Structures, drafts, reviews, and negotiates sophisticated agreements and transactions.
• Support risk management, regulatory investigations, and major health system initiatives.
