American Senior Communities is seeking an experienced Associate General Counsel (Healthcare Litigation) to lead medical malpractice and professional liability litigation. You will partner with executive leaders to align legal strategy with risk management and operational goals while guiding outside counsel and regulatory affairs.

The role offers collaboration with clinical teams, compliance professionals, and risk managers to advance enterprise objectives and protect the organization.

Qualifications

• Must have a JD from an accredited law school.
• Active Indiana law license in good standing.
• Experience handling complex litigation including medical malpractice and healthcare matters.
• Experience managing investigations, regulatory matters, and admin proceedings.
• Strong research, writing, negotiation, and advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee medical malpractice and professional liability litigation portfolio.
• Direct and manage outside counsel for cost-effective representation.
• Lead responses to government investigations and regulatory actions.
• Advise executives and clinical teams on legal and business issues.
• Develop policies, governance, and risk management initiatives.
• Mentor and support the legal department staff.
