Job summary

Halifax Health in the United States is seeking a Sr. Financial Analyst reporting to the Manager of Corporate Finance.

Position involves maintaining, collecting, organizing, and presenting financial data for managerial decision making and assisting in annual operating and capital budget development. The role requires a BS/BA in Finance or Accounting (Masters preferred), 5+ years in Finance/Accounting (healthcare preferred), and strong Excel and EPSi/Meditech skills for advanced financial modeling

Qualifications

• BS or BA in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration; Masters in Business Admin preferred.
• Minimum of five years of experience in Finance or Accounting, healthcare experience preferred.
• Experience with Allscripts EPSi, Meditech, or similar decision support systems.
• Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel is desired.
• Knowledge of budgeting, financial planning, AR valuation and financial reporting.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills required.
• Ability to independently develop and analyze alternative solutions and make recommendations.
• Ability to work under time pressure on high visibility projects.
• Exceptionally strong financial modeling skills.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to establish relationships at all organizational levels.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordination and preparation of the annual operating and capital budget.
• Assist with preparing, reviewing and analyzing the Health System's Accounts Receivable Valuation Model.
• Assist with preparing and calculating required contractual adjustments, charity and bad debts during month-end close.
• Assist in month-end and quarterly financial and statistical reports and reporting packets.
• Assist in financial analyses related to capital investment projects and ROI.
• May assist with EPSi maintenance.
• May assist with EPSi cost accounting maintenance.
• Serve as liaison with operational managers on financial, budget and accounting issues.
• Lead efforts to improve processes to increase efficiency and accuracy of information.
• Provide analytical support for more complex financial analyses.
• Analyze budget projections for completeness and conformance with procedures.
