Job summary

CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield is seeking a seasoned healthcare sales professional in the MD/DC/VA area. The role focuses on renewing accounts annually while aggressively pursuing growth within groups through tailored benefit and financial strategies.

You will manage and develop a set of accounts, build deep client relationships, and take ownership of territory team initiatives to meet deadlines. A strong emphasis on cross-functional collaboration and high-quality customer engagement is required.

Qualifications

• Active health and life license required in MD, DC, and VA.
• Residency in MD, DC, Northern VA area to travel to offices and meet clients.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or related field OR 4 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree.
• 8 years healthcare sales experience.
• Knowledge of underwriting principles and healthcare funding mechanisms.

Responsibilities

• Ensure assigned accounts renew annually and pursue growth with groups by developing account strategies.
• Manage and develop assigned accounts to increase productivity and sales of products; identify potential customers.
• Develop strong, long-term client relationships.
• Lead and participate in team initiatives; meet deadlines.
• Resolve issues and client complaints quickly and effectively.
• Gather feedback to improve customer engagement and retention.
