Corewell Health is hiring a Senior Underwriter to assess risk and set competitive, financially sound rates for Large Group Commercial accounts. The role involves analyzing risk, developing pricing, and coordinating with internal teams and external partners to ensure compliant underwriting decisions.

The ideal candidate has extensive health insurance underwriting experience and a focus on financial sustainability in healthcare.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
• 5 years of underwriting experience.
• Healthcare experience preferred.
• Provider-based carrier experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze employer risk and develop fully-insured premium rates within guidelines.
• Collaborate with Sales to determine competitive, financially responsible rates.
• Produce and review financial exhibits and reports for proposals.
• Maintain renewal and prospective account files for accurate rate development.
• Assist with self-funded proposals and COBRA rate calculations.
• Support administration of fees and pricing communication with clients.
