Job summary

UnitedHealthcare is seeking a Senior Underwriter for Employer & Individual to analyze health benefit plans, assess risks, and build models for economic analysis. The role supports renewals, pricing options, and plan design changes, using established criteria and experience reporting.

You’ll have the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere in the U.S.; however, in Minneapolis or Washington, D.C., office presence four days per week may be required.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in healthcare underwriting or in a role managing financials.
• 1+ years of experience with Risk Management.
• Proficiency with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Proven excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Primarily focus on managing a National and Local market ASO renewal book of business for innovative product growth and retention.
• Collaborates with strategic account executives to deliver high-quality outcomes and competitive financial solutions for customers.
• Work is self-directed while also requiring collaboration with underwriting leaders to optimize results.
• Assess and interpret customer needs and requirements.
• Identify and develop solutions for non-standard requests and complex issues with limited guidance.
• Analyze customer data including eligibility, banking, and claims to develop renewals and solutions.
• Provide explanations and information to others on difficult issues.
• Maintain a strong focus on strategies to incent product integration.
