UnitedHealth Group is a leading health care company seeking a Senior Underwriting Consultant for E&I to analyze Financial Protection products and assess risk across Group Life, LTD, STD and supplemental health. You will build pricing options and provide strategies to protect profit while enabling sales growth.

This role offers remote work nationwide with in-office requirements in Minneapolis or DC four days a week for those locations.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in group insurance underwriting for Group Life, LTD, STD, and supplemental health.
• Large case underwriting with pricing experience.
• Experience coordinating training and mentoring others.
• Mastery of products, provisions, plan designs and funding.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word and Excel).
• Ability to collaborate with internal and external partners on case strategies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial modeling for reserve and budget calculations.
• Evaluate risk for Life, LTD, STD, and supplemental health products.
• Validate renewals and proposals for accuracy across group sizes.
• Deliver competitive renewal analyses to sustain inforce blocks.
• Conduct competitive analysis of coverage lines and present findings.
• Mentor junior underwriters and provide guidance on complex cases.
