SCAN Health Insurance, a nonprofit health organization, seeks an Associate General Counsel to guide complex litigation, vendor contracting, and health-law compliance. The role reports to the Deputy General Counsel and requires strong communication and independent judgment in a fast-paced environment.

The position is hybrid with on-site days twice weekly at SCAN’s Long Beach, CA headquarters. A broad range of legal matters, including Medicare Advantage and managed care, will be handled, supported

Competenze

• Juris Doctor from a top-tier, ABA-accredited law school.
• Active California State Bar membership or RIHC eligibility.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant legal experience including civil litigation.
• Experience negotiating and drafting complex vendor contracts.

Mansioni

• Manage all phases of litigation, including labor, provider reimbursement, vendor disputes, and liability matters.
• Represent SCAN in administrative proceedings and some arbitrations or litigation.
• Draft, review, advise, and negotiate diverse contracts with vendors, providers, payors, and grants.
• Conduct internal investigations on compliance, regulatory, and operational matters with outside counsel.
• Provide legal advice on health plan operations and federal/state healthcare laws.
