SCAN Health Plan is seeking an Associate General Counsel to lead complex litigation and provide practical legal guidance for Medicare Advantage and integrated care delivery operations. The role requires California bar status, strong civil litigation background, and experience in vendor contracting and healthcare law.

Qualifications

• Substantial civil litigation experience, including arbitration and administrative proceedings.
• Experience negotiating, drafting, and interpreting complex vendor contracts.
• Strong ability to provide legal guidance to business units and outside counsel.

Responsibilities

• Manage and direct all phases of litigation, including labor, provider reimbursement, and vendor disputes.
• Represent SCAN in administrative proceedings and in arbitration or litigation as needed.
• Draft and negotiate a broad range of contracts with vendors, providers, payors, and grants.
• Conduct internal investigations and provide regulatory counsel on health plan operations and applicable laws.
• Oversee and manage outside counsel and legal spend to ensure quality and value.
