Job summary

CommonSpirit Health's CHI St. Joseph’s Health of Park Rapids seeks an HIM Specialist to guard patient data, ensure accuracy, and support clinicians while upholding HIPAA and regulatory standards.

You will manage end-to-end medical records, imaging, chart analysis, MPI integrity, ROI requests, and workflows, collaborating with staff to ensure timely chart completion in a fast-paced acute care setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• 1-3 years HIM experience in acute care or similar setting OR progress toward RHIT/RHIA certification.
• Demonstrated experience with EMR systems and HIM software.

Responsibilities

• Imaging lifecycle management including preparation, scanning, indexing, and quality review.
• Audit medical records for completeness and address provider deficiencies.
• Maintain MPI accuracy by resolving duplicates and data mismatches.
• Collaborate with providers to reconcile rejected orders and streamline chart completion.
• Process ROI requests accurately and in compliance with privacy standards.
• Ensure HIPAA and regulatory compliance in all record-handling procedures.
