Job summary

Mercer seeks an experienced Senior Lead Health Actuarial Consultant to join our Actuarial and Financial Consulting teams. This hybrid role requires at least three days in the office and can be located at any Mercer US office.

You will lead client engagements on health benefits planning, design, renewals, and financial projections, mentor analysts, and contribute to business development and intellectual capital in a fast‑paced environment that embraces AI and technology.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in actuarial science or related field.
• 10+ years in actuarial field with health/benefits consulting.
• ASA designation in progress or achieved.
• Client-facing experience.
• Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Lead routine client engagements, managing service delivery, strategy, financial evaluations, plan design, renewals, benchmarking and related projects.
• Review data analyses by junior staff to ensure actuarial accuracy and coaching.
• Perform and review complex analyses and cost projections using Excel, SAS and other tools.
• Draft and review client reports and presentations to summarize findings and propose solutions.
• Guide junior team members in client management and project execution.
• Assist senior team members in business development and responses to proposals.
• Contribute to development of intellectual capital and expand knowledge of health insurance actuarial services.
