Job summary

Aurora is seeking a Senior Hardware Reliability Engineer to lead reliability assessments for next-generation hardware systems and sensors used in autonomous vehicle technology, collaborating with diverse teams and external partners.

You will drive failure analysis, design robust test campaigns, and translate findings into concrete design improvements across hardware and firmware interfaces, working in Mountain View, CA.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in developing and validating hardware products such as compute systems and automotive sensors.
• Understanding of the physics of failure for electronic, mechanical, and optoelectronic components as applied to hardware systems.
• Strong ability to design and execute reliability test flows (shock, vibration, thermal) for contract manufacturing environments.
• Proficiency in analyzing hardware performance data to generate actionable insights.

Responsibilities

• Lead Hardware Reliability Assessments: conduct reliability evaluations and design test campaigns for hardware designs to meet automotive standards.
• Drive Failure Analysis (FA): own complex reliability failures and shepherd corrective actions.
• Collaborate Cross-Functionally: work with Hardware Design, Systems Engineering, Hardware Safety, Field Operations, Embedded Software, and contract manufacturers to integrate reliability findings into design and manufacturing processes.
