Aurora Innovation Inc. is seeking a Senior Hardware Reliability Engineer in Mountain View, CA to lead reliability efforts for next‑generation hardware systems critical to autonomous mobility.

You will partner with hardware design, systems engineering, safety, and manufacturing teams to ensure robustness and readiness for large‑scale deployment. Role emphasizes rigorous validation, failure analysis, and cross‑functional collaboration with external partners, with a competitive compensation package

Qualifications

• Experience in hardware validation for compute systems and automotive sensors.
• Strong understanding of physics of failure for electronic, mechanical, and optoelectronic components.
• Ability to design and execute reliability test flows (shock, vibration, thermal).
• Proficiency in analyzing hardware performance data to derive actionable insights.
• Industry experience in leading R&D at automotive companies.
• Familiarity with automotive reliability standards (AEC‑Q, ISO‑16750).
• Experience evaluating manufacturing and assembly processes for reliability.
• Hardware‑firmware interaction knowledge relevant to reliability.

Responsibilities

• Lead hardware reliability assessments and testing campaigns.
• Drive failure analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with design, systems engineering, hardware safety, field operations, embedded software, and contract manufacturers to integrate findings.
