Job summary

Raytheon is seeking a Hardware Quality Engineer to join the Operations Quality – Continuous Improvement Team at the Portsmouth, RI factory. The role emphasizes product compliance, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement within DoD programs.

Candidates must hold a DoD Secret clearance or higher and be prepared for an onsite work environment. Responsibilities include leading APQP activities, validating improvements, and coordinating with Operations, Program Management, and Engineering to

Qualifications

Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and five years of related Quality Engineering experience.
Mechanical assembly and cable manufacturing experience.
Experience with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality management systems.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

Baseline factory metrics and forecast top drivers for improvement.
Conduct quality verifications and DD250 Sale Process with DoD Quality Representative.
Align with Operations to drive containment and corrective actions.
Perform process walks and lead manufacturing team discussions to drive improvements.
Lead APQP initiatives (PFMEA, control plans, SPC) using baseline metrics.
Support weekend production assembly and tier meetings.
Verify improvements and identify cross-program opportunities.
