Job summary

Raytheon is seeking a Hardware Program Quality Engineer to support the Upper Tier Missile Defense portfolio (AN/TPY-2 and XBR) within Raytheon’s Global Sensors and Missions Systems. The role focuses on identifying early quality issues in hardware design, collaborating with Engineering, Operations and Supply Chain to implement quality strategies, and ensuring reliability through the product lifecycle.

The position is onsite in Woburn/Andover/Tewksbury/Marlborough, MA with 3–4 weeks/year travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelors’ Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in hardware quality or hardware design.
• Experience interpreting hardware drawings and product specifications.
• Experience with cpDM or similar data management systems.
• Experience in data analysis, metrics and driving process improvements.
• Experience with RCA and corrective/preventive actions.

Responsibilities

• Establish partnerships with Engineering and IPTs to implement Quality strategies.
• Evaluate designs and specifications, testing plans and equipment for reliability and standards.
• Lead reviews: ERB, CCB, ROMB, MRB to identify defects.
• Serve as Engineering Hardware Quality representative on governance boards.
• Assess design/manufacturing trade-offs to manage risk.
• Perform process walks and use metrics to drive improvements.
• Apply design experience to RCA and corrective actions, closing loop for quality.
• Travel 10% to Raytheon facilities or supplier locations.
