Job summary

Yum! Brands is seeking a Senior Software Engineer I to own end-to-end device integrations for our global POS platform. You will work with POS tablets, payment terminals, printers, scanners and customer displays in real-world restaurant environments, as part of an Android Kotlin/Jetpack Compose stack.

Qualifications

• BA/BS or higher in Computer Science or a related STEM field.
• 3+ years hands-on experience building robust software, including production Android development (Kotlin/Java).
• Experience integrating and working with third-party SDKs.
• Ability to debug and troubleshoot issues across software and device interactions.
• Regular use of AI dev tooling in your daily workflow, with the discipline to verify its output and own the result.

Responsibilities

• Onboard and support new POS hardware devices, working through SDK integration and device-specific requirements.
• Integrate and support hardware SDKs for POS devices and payment terminals.
• Build and maintain an Android-based POS and operations platform used in thousands of restaurants.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware-related issues, including device inconsistencies and vendor SDK challenges.
• Support peripherals such as printers, cash drawers, customer-facing displays, barcode scanners, etc.
• Collaborate with teammates, vendors and partners to debug issues across different hardware configurations and regions.
