Job description

Skydio is the leading US drone company and the world leader in autonomous flight, the key technology for the future of drones and aerial transportation. The Skydio team combines deep expertise in artificial intelligence, best-in-class hardware and software product development, and operational excellence to empower a broader, more diverse audience of drone users - from first responders to insurance claims adjusters, utilities, and more!

About the role:

We’re looking for a Senior Hardware Engineering Program Manager to embed within the hardware team and help design, develop, and refine custom, integrated solutions that enable our revolutionary autonomous flight technology.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Lead cross-functional efforts to bring a next-generation product from the early architecture stages through to product launch.
  • Work with engineering management and internal teams to define plans, prioritize engineering efforts, and ensure all aspects critical to the product development cycle are met, including but not limited to: build readiness, testing setups and execution, key supplier kickoffs and progress, major technical issues, and more.
  • Synchronize engineering (and non-engineering) teams to ensure progress toward major company-wide milestones.
  • Track progress throughout the development cycle, communicate updates, and escalate issues as appropriate.

What makes you a good fit:

  • Demonstrable excellence in managing firmware/software or hardware development programs for consumer electronics, automotive, or robotic systems.
  • Proven track record in designing, developing, and manufacturing electromechanical systems at consumer scale.
  • Exceptional communication skills and a natural ability to motivate and drive cross-functional internal teams and external vendors/partners toward a common goal.
  • Highly analytical, with the ability to organize and distill data to inform rigorous product development decisions.
  • Experience interfacing with highly technical teams; an engineering degree or comparable work experience is required.
  • Ability to remain flexible, calm, and creative in the face of uncertainty.

Compensation: At Skydio, our compensation packages for full-time employees include competitive base salaries, equity in the form of options, comprehensive benefits, and various incentives and stipends. Compensation will vary based on factors, including skill level, proficiencies, transferable knowledge, and experience. Relocation assistance may also be provided for eligible roles. The annual base salary range for this position is $184,000 - 240,000*. Fundamentally, we believe that equity is the key to long-term financial growth, and we ensure all full-time employees have the opportunity to significantly benefit from the company’s success.
