Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Manager Hardware Engineering 3 to serve as the Discipline Execution lead for Hardware Engineering. The role supports multiple sites including Rolling Meadows, IL, with up to 25% travel and close collaboration across engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities include leading hardware development across the lifecycle, driving common engineering processes, and mentoring technical teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in STEM with 9+ years of experience, or Master's with 7+, or PhD with 4+ years.
Experience across manufacturing, supply chain, and program management.
Proven hardware development leadership across the full product lifecycle.
Excellent verbal and written communication; U.S. Citizenship required and ability to obtain clearance.

Responsibilities

Discipline Execution lead for Hardware Engineering; ensure hardware organizations operate with rigor.
Define oversight methods and metrics to drive performance across cost, schedule, technical, quality, and staffing.
Collaborate on long-term engineering strategy and alignment with sector goals.
Partner with division teams to improve hardware engineering competitiveness and adopt sector assets.
Travel up to 25% to support distributed team environments.
