Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC is seeking a Senior HW Engineer in Kirkland, WA to test and qualify next generation spacecraft PCBAs and conduct failure mode analysis on phased array systems. You will collaborate across production, engineering, RF, supply chain, and quality teams to drive improvements.

Responsibilities include leading defect triage, drafting troubleshooting specifications, and mentoring engineers and technicians.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
2+ years of experience using Linux and related tools.
Experience with performance and log analysis.
Experience in hardware design and validation of components, subsystems and systems.
Experience scripting for automation (e.g., Python, Perl, Ruby).

Responsibilities

Conduct failure mode analysis (FMA) and root cause analysis on phased array PCBAs and systems to determine underlying causes of defects.
Specify, procure, and establish FMA test stations optimized for phased array PCBA troubleshooting on the production floor.
Communicate non-conformances to quality engineering teams and PCBA suppliers, implementing corrective and preventive actions for recurring defects.
Write comprehensive technical specifications for troubleshooting procedures, tailored to Amazon Leo's satellite manufacturing requirements.
Assist in recruiting, training, and mentoring engineers and technicians on troubleshooting techniques, failure analysis methodologies, and debug equipment operation.
Lead defect triage sessions and track failure trends across production shifts to identify systemic issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
