Job summary

Aeva is seeking a Sr/Staff Hardware Engineer to join our EE HW team in Mountain View, CA. You will help design and bring up mixed-signal PCBs for our LiDAR system, translating product requirements into architecture and PCB definitions.

Collaborate with EE engineers and cross-functional teams to optimize for cost, power, and performance. Own PCBs from schematic to fabrication and bring-up, with leadership responsibilities a plus.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required (BS, MS or PhD).
• 6+ years of hardware design experience from architecture to bring-up.
• Experience with high-speed designs and diverse protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, Ethernet, PCIe).
• Proven leadership in data acquisition subsystems and high-speed interfaces.
• Experience with PCB design release to high-volume production.
• Experience with LiDAR design or automotive product development is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Break down product requirements into an architecture and EE PCB designs and their interconnections.
• Collaborate with Electrical Engineers and cross-functional teams on designs and layouts.
• Optimize architecture to reduce HW and SW complexity, and to improve cost and power efficiency.
• Direct ownership of PCBs and sub-systems from schematic design through layout, fabrication and bring-up.
