Job summary

Ciena Corporation seeks a hands-on Hardware Engineer to validate high‑quality hardware systems. You will review schematics, perform board bring‑up, and troubleshoot in a lab using oscilloscopes, analyzers, and power supplies. Strong scripting and debugging skills are essential for rapid root‑cause analysis.

Education: BS or MS in Electrical Engineering with 3+ years in hardware validation. Knowledge of SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet, PCIe is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 3+ years experience in board bring-up and prototype validation.
• Ability to read and review schematics and use lab instruments.

Responsibilities

• Review analog and digital schematics for correctness and alignment with design practices.
• Perform board bring-up and prototype validation in a lab environment.
• Debug power, clocking, interfaces, and system-level issues.
• Capture and analyze waveforms to validate performance against specs.
• Document findings and prepare debug reports for knowledge sharing.
