Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sr. Hardware Engineer for Starlink to own the development of customer-facing hardware including Starlink dishes, gateways, and related electronics. You will work with silicon, software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to take concepts through full production.

The role requires deep expertise in mixed-signal electronics, high-reliability design, and hands-on hardware bring-up for challenging environments. Expect cross-functional collaboration and frequent on-site work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 5+ years designing circuits, electronic products, or hardware.
• Master’s degree in electrical/computer engineering (preferred).
• 8+ years designing and delivering reliable hardware products.
• 8+ years designing mixed-signal boards with processors, FPGAs, SerDes, and DDR4.
• 8+ years testing, troubleshooting, and debugging electronics.
• Strong Python and C/C++ programming skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test reliable electronics for satellite communications.
• Collaborate with software, mechanical, thermal, and manufacturing teams.
• Lead trades, requirement capture, schematic capture, PCB layout, prototyping, and bring-up.
• Provide hands-on support through production, satellite integration, and flight.
• Work with cross-functional engineers to deliver high-performance hardware.
• Improve designs using data analysis from orbit and lab environments.
