Job summary

DSJ Global is seeking a Senior Hardware Design Engineer for defense and aerospace test instrumentation in the North Reading, MA area. You will own hardware development from architecture through release, designing digital, analog and optical test hardware and leading prototyping, bring-up, and verification efforts onsite.

The role emphasizes high-speed PCB design, rigorous testing, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability and testability across programs.

Qualifications

• 5–12 years of PCBA design and simulation experience.
• Experience designing complex, high-speed, multi-layer PCB assemblies.
• Strong circuit characterization and verification skills.
• Experience presenting design risks to customers and management.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, component selection, schematic capture for digital, analog and optical instrumentation.
• Build and execute prototyping plans covering bring-up, debug and validation.
• Debug analog, digital and bus-based hardware with lab equipment.
• Run worst-case, tolerance and environmental stress analysis beyond nominal conditions.
• Analyze verification data and report design status, risks and release readiness to engineering and management.
• Partner with mechanical, systems, software, applications, quality and operations teams to improve manufacturability and testability.
