Job summary

City of Evanston is seeking a Gymnastics Instructor IV for Pre-Team and Compulsory Team coaching in Evanston. The role focuses on safe, progressive, developmentally appropriate pre-team and USAG Level 2/3 instruction, leading 1.5-4 hour practices, and planning monthly lesson progression in line with the Compulsory Code of Points.

Responsibilities include preparing gymnasts for competition, ensuring safety, and communicating progress to the Program Supervisor/Coordinator.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of experience coaching gymnastics to ages 4-12, including three (3) years coaching competitive gymnastics.
• Must possess or be willing to obtain USAG Competitive Coach Membership and maintain it as a condition of employment.
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification required or obtainable as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and facilitate progressive, developmentally appropriate pre-team programs.
• Provide detailed gymnastics instruction, including leading 1.5-4 hour practices.
• Prepare gymnasts for competition and ensure routines are performed safely.
• Monitor progress and communicate concerns to the Program Supervisor/Coordinator regularly.
• Supervise equipment use and maintain a safe training environment.
