Schedule
- June – August weekdays required
- School year Sunday through Wednesdays required
- Average 20 hours per week
Responsibilities
- Attend staff training sessions
- Be positive, patient, and engaging
- Ensure the safety of participants
- Create and implement weekly lesson plans for Compulsory and Xcel gymnasts with team and assistant coaches
- Provide lesson plans for advanced recreational gymnastics and tumbling programs as needed
- Assist with supervision and training of pre‑team, advanced recreational, and assistant team coaches
- Monitor gymnast progress and adjust routines, lesson plans, practice schedules, and individual goals
- Attend competitions and program setup as required
- Maintain open communication with the Program Supervisor/Coordinator, staff, and families about programming and participant progress
- Report participant progress and behavior to parents and supervisor
- Ensure all participants are properly dismissed to caregivers
- Communicate to supervisor(s) any problems or special needs
- Maintain care and maintenance of equipment and storage areas
- Complete written reports such as accident or incident reports in a timely manner
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Supervisor/Coordinator
Qualifications
- Minimum five (5) years of experience coaching gymnastics for ages 5‑13, with at least three (3) years of competitive coaching
- Experience coaching USAG Compulsory and Xcel Silver and Gold required
- Must possess or be willing to obtain USAG Instructor Membership and maintain it as a condition of employment
- Must hold current CPR/AED/First Aid certification from a nationally recognized institution
- Knowledge of the USAG Women’s Developmental Program and USAG Xcel Program
