Job description

Senior Guidewire Developer - Policy Center

Remote position with the ability to travel to our NJ and NY locations up to 25% of the time.

Position Summary:

Senior Guidewire Developer with 10+ years of experience in planning, designing, developing, modifying, debugging, and evaluating complex software for technical and integration areas of the Guidewire Policy Center, Claims Center, and Billing Center.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Design, develop, and unit test solutions using Guidewire application tools for Cloud implementation.
  2. Experience in Guidewire Configuration and/or Integration development as part of a larger development team.
  3. Manage scope, estimate work, build plans and schedules, track progress, and deliver according to plan.
  4. Communicate effectively with onsite/offshore teams and clients to ensure successful delivery and implementation of user stories.
  5. Propose and estimate integration solutions, including Batch Processes, Message Queues, and Event Messaging.
  6. Collaborate with internal IT teams to complete project activities.
  7. Establish and execute traceable unit and integration tests, including automation where appropriate.
  8. Ensure successful completion of user stories for each sprint.
  9. Apply industry practices, standards, and policies to work assignments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • At least 5 years of experience with Guidewire Policy Center and one full product implementation.
  • Guidewire Policy Center configuration certification required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in configuration and coding using Guidewire tools, including Guidewire Batch and plugins.
  • At least 6 years of experience in Property & Casualty insurance domain.
  • Minimum 5 years of Java development experience.
  • Experience with tools like Jira, Git, Bitbucket.
  • At least 2 years of expertise with Guidewire APIs, GX Model, and Product Models.
  • Strong knowledge of Guidewire integration concepts: Batch Processing, Message Queues, and Event Processing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites.

Skills:

  • Strong configuration and integration skills (v10.0 or above).
  • Knowledge of GOSU, PCF, XML, Product Model, Forms Inference, and Activity Assignments.
  • Understanding of Guidewire platform components (UI, Data Model, Studio).
  • Solid background in Core Java, XML, SQL.
  • Experience with RDBMS like Oracle or SQL Server.
  • Familiarity with modern software architectures, design patterns, and development techniques.
  • Experience with structured software development processes, including requirements analysis and testing.
  • Ability to work independently to complete tasks.
  • Knowledge of version control tools like SVN or CVS.
  • Experience with Agile SDLC methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of secure software development practices.
  • Familiarity with Tomcat/WebSphere and JEE frameworks is a plus.

The salary range for this role is $101,900 - $193,700. Compensation may vary based on performance, education, experience, skills, location, and other factors.
