Job description

A growing Property and Casualty Insurance Firm in the US is looking to hire a Guidewire developer to their Software Engineering team! The firm currently has 200 employees and is growing rapidly; as part of the firm's growth, they are undergoing a transformation within their Technology team, moving from legacy systems to the Guidewire suite for the Policy, Claims, and Billing Centers. This is a full time remote opportunity with some periodic travel to the Northeast.

Given the technology transformation, the firm is looking for someone with strong hands on coding skills in Java, expert knowledge of Guidewire, and effective communication skills given the cross-functional nature of the opportunity. The firm is looking to move quickly, hoping to find someone who can start in the next 1-2 months.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in leading the planning, designing, configuring, debugging, and evaluating complex software for integration areas of the Guidewire Insurance Suite
• Design and test solutions using Guidewire application tools for Cloud implementation
• Collaborate with various teams across the business to efficiently complete the project
• Identify risks in the project and create effective resolution plans to alleviate technology risks
• Design, develop and implement software for adding new functionality to existing applications in Java
• Participate in special/ad hoc projects as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree required
• 4 years of experience working with Guidewire tools
• Experience working in the Property and Casualty Insurance industry
• Experience working through a Guidewire Policy center implementation
• Experience coding in Java
