Job summary

CHAOS Industries is seeking a Senior Guidance Software Engineer to lead the design of our guidance software on a clean-slate airframe. You will contribute to the R&D team and expand your skills across product families.

Responsibilities include implementing guidance software within COTS frameworks, supporting airframe design, and integrating software with flight hardware on-site in Los Angeles. Strong embedded and DoD-relevant experience preferred.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional, object-oriented software development.
• Experience with design and implementation of guidance algorithms for UAS platforms using ArduPilot.
• Practical understanding of flight dynamics of fixed wing and rotary wing platforms.
• Embedded software development on microcontroller architectures (STM32) and Linux on Nvidia Jetson/AMD/Xilinx SoC.
• Experience with real-time embedded software including hardware interfaces.
• Experience integrating vendor-provided low-level drivers and firmware.
• Familiarity with Agile lifecycle processes including Scrum, CI, and TDD.

Responsibilities

• Implement guidance and navigation software within COTS software frameworks.
• Support airframe design activities.
• Support system integration of software on flight hardware.
• Work full-time on-site in our office in Los Angeles (Hawthorne), California.
