Job summary

CHAOS Industries is seeking a Senior Guidance Software Engineer to lead the design of guidance software on a clean sheet airframe design. You will be part of the R&D team, expanding expertise across product families and leading software for flight control.

The role requires 10+ years of embedded, real-time software development with C++ and experience in guidance algorithms for UAS using ArduPilot. On-site in Los Angeles, DoD security considerations and DevOps practices are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in CS/CE/Aerospace or related field.
• 10+ years of professional, object-oriented software development.
• Experience designing guidance algorithms for UAS with ArduPilot or similar frameworks.
• Practical knowledge of flight dynamics for fixed and rotary wing platforms.

Responsibilities

• Implement guidance and navigation software within COTS frameworks.
• Support airframe design activities and system integration on flight hardware.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver on schedule.
• Work on-site in Los Angeles (Hawthorne), California, full-time.
