Job summary

Chaos Industries is seeking a highly-skilled Senior Guidance Software Engineer to lead the design of guidance software on a clean-sheet airframe. You will work within the R&D team and collaborate across product families, applying your expertise in guidance algorithms for UAS and embedded software on Linux/Jetson platforms.

The role requires 10+ years of experience in professional software development, a Bachelor’s or higher degree in a relevant field, and on-site work in Los Angeles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in CS/CE/Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of professional, object-oriented software development experience.
• Experience with guidance algorithms for UAS using ArduPilot.
• Embedded software development for microcontrollers and Linux on Nvidia Jetson/SoC.
• Experience with real-time embedded software and hardware interfaces.
• Agile lifecycle, Scrum, CI/CD, and TDD practices.
• U.S. Person status required to access U.S.-only data systems.

Responsibilities

• Implement guidance and navigation software within COTS frameworks.
• Support system integration of software on flight hardware.
• Work on-site in Los Angeles (Hawthorne), CA.
• Collaborate in small teams with minimal supervision.
• Lead design of guidance software on a clean-sheet airframe.
